Patrick told me, “Mama, you don’t have feathers on your back and I don’t either. Birds have feathers”. He’s so cute!

Tonight Finley was playing quietly near us and when I looked over she had sucked on a marker and completely covered her face in green ink. Once again, thank goodness for washable markers. That guy should get a Nobel peace prize.

Today when I picked Patrick up he said, “mama, I have a boo boo on my bottom. Can you kiss it?”. He’s a funny boy.

Tonight was a rough one. Patrick completely lost it at dinner, insisted on sitting on the couch to eat and watch Alvin & the Chipmunks. He did the “ugly cry” and basically had to sit on me through dinner (by the way don’t call him a monkey when he’s mad). Anyway, we came through it and we didn’t sell him to the zoo. He’s such a sweet kid most of the time. We all have those days. Here’s a picture of he and his sister before he became temporarly possessed.

I had a conference in Monterey this week and had to be away from my sweet babies for a few days. It was hard and I was so happy to see them when they met me today.

In the hotel Patrick was so funny. He kept picking up the phone and acting like he was talking. He said “hi this is Carolyn, thank you”. (For those that don’t know, Carolyn is his grandmother). Then he jumped on the bed and fell and bumped his head which cracked up his sister. He wasn’t quite as amused. Never a dull moment around here.

It has evolved into quite an elaborate affair and the little guy has figured out how to extend it daily. How do they all know the drink of water trick! Here is my boy doing his 5 minutes of “piano playing” otherwise known as his father’s 5 minutes of sanity after the bath routine!

those of you who have spent any time with me know I am not a morning person. it pretty much always feels awful, almost physically painful to wake up. I think my poor boy takes after his mama. today at nap the poor guy was a wreck and couldn’t function hardly at all. I had to hold him and we couldn’t even look at him until he drank his milk and had a moment to get going. sorry kid! I would post a picture but he was not willing to let me take one. Here is one of him when he’s not waking up.
